7 Ways In Which You Can Overcome Excuses for Not Marketing Your Website by Writing Articles

Wannabe writers, are full of excuses as to why they aren't writing yet. Many of these excuses can be changed to proactive statements with a mere switch in attitude and perspective.

How many times have you read an article, and said to yourself, “I could have written this.” Well, why don't you?

It took me a long time to discover that my passion in life was writing. Even though, as a teenager, I filled a whole blank book with poetry, which I wrote while trying to recover from the “first love's” broken heart type of feelings.

It wasn't until I made it a habit to start writing in my journal every morning, that I found out just how easy it was to get the writing juices flowing. Below is a list of some common excuses writer wannabe's make for not writing. You will find suggestions along with each excuse on how to counteract those excuses and move forward to success.

1. EXCUSE #1 I don't know where to start, or what to write about.

---Just get up each morning a few minutes earlier than the rest of the household, and start writing in a journal. Write about anything and everything that pops into your mind. Try to write at least 3 or 4 pages. Devote at least 10 minutes each morning to this ritual.

Do it with a pen and notebook, rather than the computer. There is a physical connection between the brain and your fingers on the paper.

Keep your statements positive. Try to eliminate words like, “I need to” or “I should” or “I have to” replacing them with more affirming phrases. Using “I am” and “I can” changes your whole focus. I find just replacing the three phrases above makes the writing process much more positve and results oriented.

You will be amazed at the material that you can pull from this journal that can be used in your daily projects.

2. EXCUSE #2 I don't have any experience or formal schooling in writing.

----With the internet, and all the writing books available today, it is easy to teach yourself what it takes to write successfully. Just jump in and get your feet wet, give it a try.

Have someone you trust read over your writing, and then give you their opinion. But don't stop with one person's point of view.

Some of the best feedback I have received, has come from people wanting to use my “free to reprint” articles. I remember one lady email me saying, “I really enjoyed reading the passionate article you wrote on this subject.” Up to that point, I had never looked at my writing as passionate.

3. EXCUSE #3 I don't have enough confidence in my writing abilities, I can't measure up to what is already out there.

----Following the same advice as above, as you jump in and do it, your confidence will grow. Publish some free content articles, to promote a website, and discover just what people like and don't like. With feedback comes confidence. It is hard not be be confident in your writing abilities when you get showered with requests to use your articles in others ezine's and on their websites. :o)

4. EXCUSE #4 Writing will take too much time away from my family and other responsibilities.

----On the contrary. Writing can actually benefit and help you with your other responsibilities. By establishing a morning routine of writing in your journal, you will get to know yourself better, and grow both in professional and personal development. These positive changes to you will affect everyone you come into contact during the rest of your day. This includes members of your family.

5. EXCUSE #5 I am not very creative.

----Everyone has creativity in them. Some people have a harder time tapping into it than others. By creating a time and space for writing in your life, you are giving yourself permission to tap into your own creative subconscious resources and intelligence. You may be surprised and amazed at your own creative results.

6. EXCUSE #6 What I know has already been written.

----Did you know, you could give 5 writers an assignment on the same subject and each one of them will come back with an article with a very unique and different focus. It is because we all look at things from different perspectives. Our perspectives are developed by our own individual life experiences and the lessons we have learned. You can take what is out there and put your own unique slant on it.

7. EXCUSE #7 I am scared, not sure I can handle criticism and rejection.

----As mentioned already, by just doing it, jumping in and giving it a try, you will gain confidence and grow. Rejection is just someone's opinion. Get another opinion, and then another.

Some of the best books published in history were rejected dozen's of times before some one took a chance on them and would eventually hit the New York Times bestseller's list.

So there you have it. Stop making excuses and jump in the water and get wet. It will be more fun, rewarding and maybe even profitable for you once you actually take some daily action steps. Who knows, you might even make a big splash upon entrance to the pool of what's floating around. . :o)

As you begin getting your work out there, ideas will come to you so quickly it may be overwhelming at times. Just remember to write down your ideas, keeping notes on topic ideas, titles, and themes to research. The list will be endless.

Use these intuitive thoughts to spark your thought process when you actually sit down with pen to paper. You will find many stories, experiences, and lessons learned that can easily be incororated into a promotional article. “So start writing now, may the force of your creativity be with you!”

7 Ways to Get More Mileage from Your Free Reprint Articles

Do you have old free reprint articles gathering dust? Transform and re-submit them to give your business, product or service another boost!

Here are 7 ways:

1. Transform your article.

You can transform your article in several ways:

- Give it a bullet or number format.

- Give it a Q and A format.

- Give it an anecdote format by adding your own experience.

- Give it a Problem-Solution format.

- Give it a short feature format by interspersing quotes from 2-3 people with information.

Do this and you'll end up with many versions of your original article.

2. Create many titles for your article versions.

List possible titles for the article versions you develop. Mix and match the titles with the article versions.

3. Give your article a different tone/style.

If your article is too serious, rewrite it and give it a lighter tone.

4. Focus your article on a specific audience.

If your article is too generalized, transform it into several articles aimed at specific types of readers.

For example, an article titled "Creative Online Marketing" can have these title variations:

- "Creative Online Marketing for Webmasters"

- "Creative Online Marketing for Small Business Owners"

- "Creative Online Marketing for Affiliates"

- "Creative Online Marketing for Auctioneers"

In the above example, 4 new article versions can be developed simply by being more specific with the target reader. Do this on your article, then simply do a minor edit of your original article by tailoring the content with specific article titles.

5. Expound on a sub-topic.

Go over an article and see if you can expound on a sub-topic, keyword or idea. Then develop that into a bulleted article.

6. Shorten your article.

Transform a 1500-word article into a 500-word one. The shorter, the better. In writing, one rule of thumb is: if you can get your point across in as fewer words as possible, do so.

7. Update your article.

An article you wrote 5 years ago may still be applicable today. Simply update the article to reflect current trends or new insights you've had on the topic since you wrote it.

And here are some places you can submit your new article versions:

Broaden Your Customer Base: Submit Articles!

If you are going to be writing articles to promote traffic to your website anyway, why not make them available to be used in other people's e-zines? This is a great way to have your work spread around the Internet to reach new customers. Of course my work can be found in my own free e-zine, but that really limits the people that read it. I advise possibly swapping articles and/or ads with another e-zine to double your visibility to subscribers. This process can be studied in greater detail by visiting http://www.e-zinez.com.

Another way to get your work published is to submit it to http://EzineNewsWire.com or http:www.ezinearticles.com. Here publishers can find your article to use in their e-zines. In return for using your work, subscribers will read your bio and have access to your web address which appears at the bottom of all your articles. The outcome of this new publicity will be more traffic to your site, which equals more business, would doesn't like the sound of that?

There are also numerous places that will take free classified ads, or you can pay for ads in selected publications. Make a list of magazines and other publications that make sense for your business in order to broaden your audience. Traditional print and the media are also a great way to get noticed. The key to getting your articles seen is to have them spread virtually everywhere and anywhere that you possibly can. Search engines will give a long list of websites that will publish your article for free. Usually all it takes is a minute to register and then you can submit all night long. This is time consuming but will inevitably help get you more hits on major search engines. Type in your name and found out.

Comparing Publicity Submitting Articles Online, PressReleases, Book Signings, and Blogs

Your audience online awaits information from you. That's why they visit Web sites related to their interest area. With that in mind, know that writing and submitting articles is the number one Online publicity and promotion game around.

You already know that a great Web site with a lot of content keeps pulling your visitors back for more information. Maybe you don't know that to get your targeted audience to your site, you need to spread your free, useful information around cyberspace.

That means to start and keep going a publicity campaign like I do.

Writing and Submitting Articles to Top Web Sites Works

1. Write 10-15 how to and other articles your audience will appreciate.

2. Leverage those to meet other audiences and focuses.

3. Gather 10-20 top web site addresses (URLs) that are in the top 20 through google or another search engine.

4. Search by submitting to your category such as "parents" a second word "submit articles."

5. Submit 2-3 articles at a time to each of these top 20 web sites and watch your numbers grow.

6. Delegate to an assistant to multiply results exponentially.

7. Google my name Judy Cullins to see these results later, watch your growth. Google your name.

Your coach's experience--Got on 1200 Web sites year one, on 4500 year two, 14,000 year three, 30,000 year four and this year over 123,000 other sites, growing 1000's each day. All with a link back to my site where people interested in writing, publishing, or promoting a book will come for even more information. This translates to over 3500 Web visitors each day. Targeted visitors! Consistent sales. From my results

Blogs May be Useful

Even when you create your blog you must also give useful, original information such as these articles. They are proven to do more than any other kind. You can also submit a customer questions and answer it. Update your information at least several times a week to boost your search engine placement. These offerings as with writing and submitting articles let people see you as the expert.

Submit Articles to Opt-In Ezines (no spam)

Submit these same articles to opt-in ezines. These are subscriber only, so you aren't considered spam. From 500 to over 30,000 subscribers in each ezine, you can multiple business results in these ezines. And, they are easy and fast to participate in. Once you get well known, watch your web site targeted traffic increase.

Press Releases May not Get to the Right Person

Let go of publicity and promotion that doesn't work. Like me you may stop submitting press releases to book editors. Even though I submitted over 150 press releases in a year, I only got a few feature stories. I did get some action, but little for the time and effort. If you do send a press release, put a 3-5 Tip blurb in it to make media editor more likely to publish it. They love short how to information just like the rest of us.

Submitting Copies of Your Book for Review

While this may work for some, it's a limited response. Yes, send a few review copies out to people such as MidWest Book Review who actually give them in a timely way. It's much easier getting testimonials from people who have used your service or read your book. They want to help you because they liked your book. They will even give testimonials from a partial read or experience. On the Internet-the playing field is even. You don't need gurus' opinions to say you are OK.

Book Signings May Work

If you love to speak and can speak well, by all means get out and share the good news. You may not get paid to speak, but selling at the back of the room can reward you. Or, people will like what they experience and use your business. The catch? Make sure you schedule 6 talks a month to get the maximum visibility and sales you want.

What Better Visibility Than the Web?

When the Internet reared its beautiful head, I dialled a local high school and hired a techie at low cost. With just the two of us, we put the easiest, cheapest, and fun PR campaign to work. We spend around 4-6 hours a week staying on top of this. When I Goggled my name today I was listed on 123,000 other Web sites with a link back to my site. That means sales.

Spend your publicity and promotion time on what works. What is easiest and fun. You want to spend time on doing what you can from your home office to reach your targeted audience Online who want and need your service or product.

How I Made $1683.04 From Writing ONE Article

Yeah, $1683.04. One article. Here's how:

You can't just sit down and write an article that makes money. Most articles don't ever make it past the directories they're submitted to. Why? They don't get reprinted because they are horribly written, or they're advertorials, or flat-out spam. But there are a few - a select few - that make it to the big leagues. And those make money. Lets start by talking about how to write a good article.

How You SHOULD Start

Don't just start writing. Start by thinking about your audience. Think about their wants, not their needs – people are much more likely to make a decision based on their wants, and put off their needs. Focus on their feelings, and accelerate them. Take advantage of them. How? Be your audience, take some time to step into their shoes, and feel what they feel. Now, what would you respond to? Take that, and run with it.

Put Your Plan Together And Write Your Outline

Still don't start writing your article. Start by writing down those wants and feelings you thought about, in outline form. Go ahead and write them on paper, in Notepad, in Word, wherever you want to. Feel free to add to your list if you think of other good ideas.

Now Start Writing

Take your outline and turn it into paragraphs. Make sure you write in a conversational style - your readers hate to be lectured as much as you do - but make sure that you use proper grammar as much as possible. When you're done writing, save your article and get away from it for a while.

Proofread, Proofread, And Proofread Again

I can't stress this part enough. You MUST proofread your articles at least 2-3 times. And while you're reading, try to think like the reader again. This will help you use the language that will be the most effective, and it will help ensure that your writing style isn't confusing. If you're not good at proofreading, or grammar in general, find someone who is, and have them do it for you. A poorly written article probably won't make you a cent.

Now, Where Do You Submit It?

Easy - everywhere. You want to submit your article to as many places/people as possible. Find every article directory available and submit your article to them. Yes, this takes time, but it's worth it. Why? Because you never know where a publisher will find your article. Submitting by hand can get very tedious and time consuming, though, so make sure you allot time to do it.

Or, if you're willing to trade a little bit of money for your time, consider using a submission service. I personally use Article-Marketer.com, because they submit to roughly 30,000 publishers, sites and directories. I'm not even going to try to figure out how much time that would take me to do by hand, but I know the small price tag I pay to have my articles submitted is well worth it.

And How Will This Make Me Money?

I'm getting to that... Hold your pants on. Now that you know how to write and submit a great article, you can move on to how to profit from them. There are a few things to consider here –

1) Topic - You can't write an article about how to make great spit wads and expect to make any money from it. Why? Well, not many people really care enough about how to make great spit wads to spend money on them.

2) Reason - You have to have a reason for the article. You can't just write an overview of a program and expect it to be published, let alone sell anything for you. Your readers have to see a value in reading further, or they'll leave. This means you have to give them great content, preferably something they haven't heard before.

3) Trust - If your readers are going to do ANYTHING for you, you have to give them something first. You can't write an article and only include stuff that's common knowledge. Give them value, and they'll repay you for it.

4) Means – Once you've picked a great topic, given your readers a reason to read it, and established trust by telling them things they didn't know before, they'll be primed to make you a profit, so give them a way to do it.

Now It's Time For The Juicy Stuff

The article that made me $1700 had all of those things, and my means of profit was through a very subtle affiliate link in the middle of the article. I didn't hype it up, I didn't point it out, I simply mentioned it once and went on with the article. Looking back, I probably could have mentioned it subtly again at the end of the article and made more sales, but hindsight is always 20/20.

I do need to say that most article directories and publishers won't reprint an article with an obvious affiliate link in it, so you have to disguise it. I purchased a domain name and had it forwarded to my affiliate hoplink (it is a Clickbank product), and when you type in my domain, it redirects so quickly, you can't even tell there is a redirect. Check it out; it's http://www.GetSEOElite.com - sly, eh? It just looks like I'm referring the reader to a great product, as opposed to including the link because I'm trying to make money.

Don't Forget The Good Ol' Resource Box

Affiliate links aren't the only way to profit, you can also include a link in your resource box (aka About the Author area) back to your site, and direct people to where they can get more information about the article topic. You can direct them to another affiliate site, a name squeeze page, or just about anywhere you want. This is a great way to get a number of backlinks for your site, as well.

Jackpot!

SiteProNews.com picked up my article about 15 days after I had it submitted, and they sent it to their subscriber list of 500,000 people. I'm not sure how many people read it or how many followed the affiliate link, but do I know that in 2 days I racked up about 20 sales of SEO Elite and the link in my resource box almost tripled my traffic, as well.

Want To Write Your Own Article Now?

I feel like I should say something about how my results are probably not typical, and not everyone will be able to make $1700 off of one article. But I'll also add that if you find that right topic, and produce a great article, you could blow my $1700 out of the water, and I hope you do! Just remember these things:

- Don't just start writing, think about your reader first.

- Proofread

- Use an article submission site , it will prove invaluable in the time and effort it saves

Happy writing!

How To Profit From Private Label Articles

Free content is great. I love how easy is to enrich a website in minutes republishing free articles written by real expert authors. Furthermore they give me the invaluable ability to profit from niches I really don't know nothing about.

Lately I have been thinking about how to develop my strategy, and I ended thinking about outsource my writing content creation. The only drawback is the difficulty in finding good writers delivering quality articles for let's say $5-6 each. I think this is a perfect solution from a business perspective. But in a more pragmatic sense, it is even more sophisticate than I'd really needed.

During my research for alternatives, I've found that private label content with limited distribution has exactly the right amount of quality and exclusivity I was looking for. If only hundreds of webmasters have access to the articles and they have granted the right to rewrite them as a privilege for their membership, chances are they will do (for profit and for reputation). Even better, not every article will necessarily be used from every member.

If you are wondering what the best sources of private label articles are I've reviewed some of them.

Now I'd like to give you some ideas on how to profit from such exclusive content:

Open a blog. Then, instead of publish the same free articles everyone is using or the same exact news you have just read on another blog, try to give it some real appeal. Forget everything you know about seo and traffic: build value. Use this blog like a business card. Establish relationships in your niche: add interesting comments in other blogs; link it in your forums' signature; use it to easily get into publisher networks requiring quality partners for their advertisers.

Select a few articles, edit them as needed, put yourself as the author and set an autoresponder course or build a pdf report. Use it to capture subscriptions to your list. Brand yourself like an authority and offer your prospects a good reason to remember you and your business.

While you should not submit private label articles to article directories unless you practically rewrite them fully, you can still use them to promote your website.Articles directories want unique content, and your private label articles are not “so much” unique. But there is plenty of website publishers needing for good content. You may want to contact them privately offering your rebranded articles (whether if you hardly edited them or not) and you'll eventually gain lot of benefits.

Build laser-targeted content for Adsense (or whatever). Because you can change everything in the articles, you can edit them to better target high-bid Adsense search terms or for seo purposes. Also you could note that as you don't have to publish the authors' resource box and none of the other resources he incidentally linked, you will able to keep the traffic on your site (or to drive it where you'll make more money).

Can you get it? Pratically it's like writing your own articles. Thus, you can focus on money making, not writing.

If you want to learn killer article marketing secrets, I suggest you subscribe this 50 parts course. It covers every aspect of article marketing I leaved out here, and it's full of great ideas and strategies. Furthermore it's completely free.

Links From Articles

Links building is a primary job for developing link popularity. Link popularity is one of the vital measures taken in consideration by the search engines to rank your web pages. The number and the quality of links on your website would also play an important role for raising your page ranking. You can use various strategies such as article writing, software and tools to raise your link popularity.

But before you use any of these strategies for link building, it is a must for you to know your existing status. So you should, first of all, find out the link popularity of your website. And it is really a simple process. You can go to any search engine and type “Links: domain name of the website”. Complete information regarding the links of the website will be presented to you by the search engines.

Now you can work to build up your links' popularity. A number of people are making persistent efforts for building links from various resources. Articles are a good source of displaying the quality of information on your website. Indeed links from articles are greatly helpful in finding a better place in the search engine ranking.

Articles are actually the real attention grabbers on the web. They provide knowledge and information to the users and thus the users keep seeking for these articles regularly.

Unless you have a really good content on your website, you are not going to get the desired links. The basic rule for getting links from articles is to write them on a particular theme. Your articles must be focused and give relevant information to a subject related to your website. Keywords also play a significant role in generating links for you.

You can generate inbound or one way links as well as reciprocal links via these articles. Always make a thorough research of the most used keywords on the internet. The keywords suggest you a topic that people usually seek for information, on the internet. The articles you write must be rich in the keywords. You have to produce the relevant information keeping the good keyword density in your articles. For, this will make your article search engine friendly.

Every one is not skillful to develop such articles. Get some professional writers to do it for you. You can have your own team of writers or can get the articles written by freelance writers as well. Articles written by professional writers will help you in getting the targeted links. You can also keep these articles in a separate section in your website.

One more way to get links from articles is to get them published on the other sites, i.e., other than your site. Internet is full of flourishing websites that offer to publish your articles for free. These sites are a good platform to get noticed in the cyber world. The ezines, ebooks and online news sources are there to help you popularize your website as well.

You can also find some forums to publish your articles for free. Generally the forums do not allow you to put a link at the end of your articles. But the regular members can post their links under their articles. And this turns out to be really profitable for link building.

The primary advantage of getting your articles published is that the internet traffic you get from the article links is targeted. The articles of a particular theme will be only read by the people having interest in that particular subject. This surely, is going to improve your search engine ratings.

Promote Quickly & Easily With The Two-Step

Here's a really simple way... to promote your online business today. It makes no difference if it is a product or a service. You can start today getting some needed exposure to your site in two simple steps. That's why I call it the "Two Step" approach.

Discovering how to get visitors to your site is a steep learning curve for most. Whether you are a beginner or a veteran, it requires some work. This article gives you a simple, yet doable plan to solve your traffic problem.

There are many ways to promote your site. Some cost you money. Some cost you time. Most cost you both money and time. Well, if you are like this author, I have a lot more time than money.

This approach is not going to cost you any money, but you will invest some time with your efforts. Sound fair to you? Then let's get started.

Here's the first step in the "Two Step":

1) WRITE ARTICLES

Articles are probably the very best way for you to get some good, targeted traffic to you site.

There are many fr*ee ways to gain traffic, but none of them bring you "targeted" traffic. That's what you really need.

Here is the second step in the "Two Step".

2) DISTRIBUTE YOUR ARTICLES.

There are lots of ways to accomplish this. I am going to suggest a few of them. Very likely you will discover many more ways.

-Send them to other publishers who are looking for fresh content.

-Place them in article directories. (A simple search will locate many,)

-Create an article directory on your site.

-Place them in autoresponders with follow-up messages.

-Send them out with snail mail messages that you are doing.

The more articles you write, send out and publish to directories on line, the more exposure you will get and the more traffic you will receive.

Set yourself a goal to write at least one article per week and distribute it. More often if you can do it.

You will be amazed with the results, and the benefits of an article campaign can last for years and become viral as your articles are posted on other's site.

Writing and publishing articles is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to bring your site some long term targeted traffic and links from other sites.

What are you doing to promote your site? Where will you be a month from now...a year from now?

Why not put the "Two Step" into motion for your site? It's as easy as a waltz around the dance floor.

The Key To Distributing Articles

So you have written a great article on your area of expertise, but how are you going to distribute it?

This is where many people fall-over in the article publishing business. If you create an article and put it on your site people aren't just going to turn up and read it.

This reminds me of an old story I was told by a friend. When he was a child he decided to make chips and sell them to make some pocket money. He made the chips and set up the stall in his parent's kitchen. Of course being young and naive, he didn't tell anyone he just expected people to turn up! Of course they didn't. The same goes for your article writing. In order to be successful, you must circulate the article.

The best way to circulate the article is to use one of the top distribution services and article directory services. For example:

• Articlesnet.co.uk

• Isnare.com

• Submityourarticle.com

These companies will either put your article up on their site, and due to the high traffic readerships of these sites you will gain extra readers. Alternatively if they are a distribution service they will email your article to lots of ezine and newsletter authors. They, in turn, will then email your article to all their readers. Obviously the article has to be of a high enough standard. Many of the distribution services have arrangements with other large article sites and will automatically submit your article to these sites.

One final tip to aid in circulating your article is to create an RSS feed. You can then distribute your article RSS feed and ping all the major RSS search engines. They will index your article and this again allows you to tap into many more readers.

I hope these tips help you in your article publishing.

Web Site Marketing Strategy - Article Submission To Article Directories

Every website needs traffic. It's pretty simple really. No matter how wonderful your website design is, it will just squander in no man's land if no one ends up visiting it. Obviously, if you have a business enterprise being run on your web site, the need for traffic becomes an absolute necessity, since without traffic, no one visits the site which means you get no business. Your automatic recurring income stream is dependent on the number of visitors you will receive as you drive traffic to your web site.

As far as getting web site traffic goes, there are many ways to accomplish this. There are some that market a guaranteed number of "hits" if you pay a specific price per quantity of hits. There are some companies that offer deliver bulk traffic for a certain period of time, say for a month or two if you pay a certain price. Then there are viral marketing campaigns in which you have a product embedded with your web site link that gets passed around (usually for free) to other marketers. After a while, your website link is in view of a lot different people and if the links are clicked, your web site receives traffic.

These methods of driving web site traffic are well and good; some offer more benefit than others, most definitely. These methods, especially lead or "targeted" hit purchases, will cost you significant dollars over time and may or may not prove to be beneficial for the money.

I have found one tactic that will definitely drive targeted web site traffic to your site.

The method I am talking about to get more web site traffic is called article submission marketing. It is a powerful strategy that will end up giving you many backlinks to your web site, without you having to lift a finger once your articles have been submitted to article directories. Because of this, article marketing is now very popular among the internet marketers.

How does article submission marketing work? Well, all you have to do is to write an article on a topic that has some informative content to it. The topic of your article should obviously be about what your web site is about. This is so that people that read would read your article, will also be interested in going to your web site, because the content of the article and the content of the web site are based on the same or a similar topic.

You don't even really need to know much about the subject you are writing the article about since there are resources available that you can use to provide a baseline that would have enough informative content in it to get your article started. Generally, a 350 to 900 word article is all that is needed.

Once you have written the article, you need to submit it to an article directory to get it published. There are many article directories to submit to. A few good article directories I know of are mentioned here http://www.theonlinearticleplace.com, http://www.goarticles.com, http://www.articlefactory.com, http://www.ezinearticles.com and http://www.articlecity.com. Once the article submission is completed to one article directory, continue to submit to others.

At the very end of your article, you should include a resource box. The resource box contains a short bio about you as well as a link to your web site. Then, once your article has been submitted to many article directories, your link on the directory will provide a one way backlink to your web site, which is great for search engines to recognize your site as one that is relevent for the topic you wrote about (and what your website is about).

Now, every time a user visits the article directory and reads your article, three benefits would result:

1. In the mind of the reader, you would be branded as an expert of the topic you wrote about.

2. Your link will get exposure from article submission to any directories it ends up on.

3. Copies of your article may be put on a reader's own web site, giving you even more backlinks from those new sites your article is now hosted on.

Article directories appear prominently in search engine results because of all the content they contain. If you have written your articles to make good use of relevant keywords of your topic, there would be a better chance that the page where it will be hosted would appear in the results page of many related search queries. Article submission marketing is the best and cheapest way to get backlinks that you could ever want in the world of web site marketing!

Additionally, editors of electronic magazines, or eZines, as well as webmasters, regularly browse through article directories looking for articles they could use as content for their newsletters or their sites. If they find your article to be of interest and decide to copy it for republishing, they may providing they keep your resource box intact. This is to avoid copyright infringement. When this is done, it gives your link even more exposure because now it is being hosted on even more web sites, article dirtectories, ezines, etc.

The best thing about having your article on other web sites is that the article directories will never delete hosted articles. The possibility of your article getting picked up by editors and webmasters the world over would go on and on for as long as your article is there in the article directories.

Obviously, possessing some writing skills would make the process easier. But if you are not blessed with such skills, or if you simply don't have the time to prepare your own articles, you could always hire the services of a ghostwriter. The going rate of a 500 word article these days is somewhere in the vicinity of $5 to $15. Any amount below this range would be a bargain. Just make sure that the ghostwriter is perfectly qualified for the job and that he formally agrees to provide you with original material.

Imagine the power of article submission marketing when your mass quantites of articles are submitted to the many article directories. Talk about bang for the buck - or in this case no bucks!

In summary, article submission marketing is simply amazing in its simplicity and power. If you have not yet tried this strategy, do so as soon as possible, and it will be sure not to fail you.

Write Articles, Get Noticed

If you have a website, you need to get visitors to that website. Writing articles is one of the best ways to get that traffic.

Many people believe that they can't write. My feeling is, if you can talk - you can write. It may help you to list the major points that you are trying to make. Think about the subject you want to write about. Is there a product or an affiliate program that you want to showcase?

Once you know the topic and the points you want to make, create a simple outline. Then, all you have to do is elaborate on each point. Before you know it, you have your article written!

When your article is finished, create a "killer" resource box that introduces you, your website and your product (or your affiliate product). This is the place to brag about yourself and how good your product is! The content of the resource box will usually look like it has been written by a person other than the author of the article. I'm sure that most people understand that it was written by the author, but it doesn't look as much like your "tooting your own horn." :) A resource box should not be longer than four or five lines including the site URL.

You may think that a few articles won't make much difference to your promotion efforts, but look at the ways they could bring traffic:

1. Submission of your articles to article announcement lists and article directories will create outside "links" to your website. The resource box at the end of your article will be the place to put that link. If you're an affiliate marketer, it's better to have the link refer to a page on your own website that relates to the affiliate product rather than directly to the affiliate program's website. That way, you get the traffic first - not them. It's also a good idea to have a form for your newsletter that will capture their name and email address so you can build your optin list.

2. Send your articles to newsletter publishers. Most publishers either keep an archive of their past newsletters or will add your article to their own article directory.

Do a search in newsletter directories and email the publisher to request permission to send him or her your articles. Keep these publishers in a special list that you can send to whenever you write an article. Ask the publishers how often they would prefer you send your articles to them. Otherwise, they may feel you are bombing them :)

3. Using your articles on your own site, as useful content, will give the search engines something to feed on. Be sure that you have the appropriate meta tag keywords on the page for each article you write. Then, submit that page to search engines.

After you have accumulated a number of your own articles, and have added them to your site, you will have a good start to an article directory where your visitors can come to read articles on a particular subject that that they are interested in.

Invite other authors to post their articles to your article directory. This will not only help bring traffic to their site, but also to yours, by having a resource readily available to your website visitors. Keep their resource box just as they wrote it (unless they have given you permission to add your own affiliate link). Also make sure that their link is "live" - that is clickable to their website. If your site visitors know there will be new articles posted on their subject of interest often, they will come back again - and again.

Writing articles may sometimes seem like a chore. But it is a necessary one to your online success. So, ready, set, start writing!

How to Market Yourself Successfully as a Writer

To ensure a steady flow of work and income, a writer should promote himself constantly. Not everyone knows you are a writer and the competition for work is very high. Not only do you compete with publications regular staffers and commissioned writers but with more learned and skilled freelancers.

Marketing should be on top of your priorities after production of your writing. You need to adopt various strategies to get your name out there and display your prowess.

Here are a few useful ways to promote yourself and achieve success:

WEBSITE PROMOTION

In this information age that we are in, it is necessary for every business person to have a web site to display his/her wares as well as communicate with potential customers. You should consider yourself in business and adopt appropriate business practice in order to succeed.

You need a web-site where you explain what writing services you offer, your writing credentials and samples of your published work is essential not only to provide information to would-be clients but to show them your writing competence. Of course there are other add-ons such as auto-responders, ezines, etc to supplement your site. Your website should be optimized for better search engine ranking and its URL displayed in your business documents so that people are informed of its presence.

ARTICLES SUBMISSIONS

This is a good strategy for publicizing yourself and its effects may last for quite a long time. This strategy works best online.

In this strategy you select subjects and topics in your area of specialization and post the complete articles to article submission websites for free publication. Each article will contain the writer’s byline at the beginning and a brief bio at the end. The bio will include your name, email address, website URL and what you do or who you are.

If your article is good it may be accepted for publication on the website and read by hundreds, if not thousands of people on line. Among these people are editors and ezine publishers who will republish the complete article in their publications.

The interest that your article generates and the information you provide in your bio will market you as a good writer and people will click on your website URL. The multiplier effect of this will be increased enquiries on what you offer, orders for your services or more visitors to your website. You will also have earned credits for publication of your article, which you can send to prospective publishers.

Some of the websites that accept and publish articles submitted are: -

ADVERTISING

“Advertising pays” is as true today as it was decades back. As we said earlier, nobody knows you are there or you offer writing services. Your website is online. You can advertise your services in the many free classified ads sites and safe lists. You can also put paid ads on high traffic sites, writer’s sites, job boards, ezine ad networks, etc.

SIGNATURE FILE

A one or two line reference of what you do together with your website URL can be added in a special section of your e-mail address so that all e-mail messages you send out will contain the “signature file” is another good way to promote yourself especially if you are sending out many e-mail messages to newsgroups and online communities. After reading your message, people would want to know who you are and what you do. When they click your website or auto-responder address they will be led to what you do or offer. Set up a signature file in your e-mail, participate in discussions by sending e-mail messages and watch enquiries grow. However, be careful not to advertise directly when you post to newsgroups as that may offend others and that is not the main purpose of newsgroups.

SENDING OUT QUERIES

Sometimes, even after using other means to promote yourself you have to use this one also. It may be considered the most common way of finding work for freelance writers. Querying is an art in itself and there are many do’s and don’ts. Some publications accept e-mail queries while others don’t. Some do and others do not accept work from freelancers. You need to read market guides such as the Writers Market or submission guidelines from publishers’ websites as well as practice writing query letters.

The more queries you send the better as they increase you chances of acceptance.

OTHER

Word of mouth promotion/networking are also other ways to promote yourself within your locality. Attend seminars on writing or your area of specialization and inform others that you are a writer and you can assist them in their promoting their businesses in one way or another. Put your name, your occupation and contacts as a writer on business cards, calendars, and diaries and distribute freely locally. Ask your friends to recommend you to others. The possibilities are many and are only limited by your ability to explore them.

Writers need to market themselves in order to keep the business coming in and ensure a steady flow of income throughout the throughout the year.

Massive Exposure for New Authors

Most writers nowadays are aware of the current buzz on the internet: writing articles is one of the best ways to build name recognition and web presence. Here are some words of encouragement for those just starting out with this approach to promotion.

By now most of you are probably aware of the current buzz across the internet: writing articles about your area of expertise is one of the best ways to build name recognition and web presence. If you can communicate your ideas and information well in a short piece, and include a by-line at the end that provides a link to your own website, then you can generate more traffic this way than by other typical approaches like submitting to search engines or link-sharing.

Much has been written about it, so I'll assume that you're already privy to the potential benefits of article publishing. I want to address THIS particular article to writers with published works; especially those who have self-published, and are now faced with the daunting (and much different) task of self-promotion.

If you mainly write fiction, maybe you balk at the idea of devoting your time to writing more informative pieces. Believe me, I understand this resistance. I am a fantasy author, and for a long time I believed that my muse lived at a far extreme from day-to-day concerns. But at the same time, I often used to (jokingly, I thought) remark to various people: “Get me on the topic of creativity and writing and I could just ramble on for days.”

Then one day the inspiration hit me: maybe I should write all that “rambling” down for a change and then post it somewhere where other people could benefit from it.

I found that it was not only relatively easy to do this, but actually enjoyable; and it allows for a little relief from the right-brain strain of constantly cranking out creative fiction ideas.

If you're hesitant about diving into article writing because you don't feel like you're quite an expert on anything, let me address that issue too. To write articles, you don't need exhaustive knowledge about any topic; you only need to know a little more than the many others out there who might benefit from what you've experienced.

If you've completed a novel, then you can write for all aspiring novelists who haven't yet summoned the courage to commit anything to the page. If you're published, then you can write for others who HAVE completed a book but are still wallowing in obscurity. Share what you learned along the bitter road that is littered with rejection letters, lonely hours at the writing desk, despair, and oftentimes the misunderstandings of even our closest loved ones.

The point is, wherever you are along the path of your writing ambition, there are others behind you who could benefit from your experience. They will be grateful for your articles and the information and encouragement you gave them. Some will respond by clicking through to your website and learning about your other writings. Some will hopefully purchase your book.

How many can you hope to reach? Well, I just recently began this article writing endeavor myself. Now when I search by my name on Google or Yahoo I find my pieces turning up on over a dozen e-zines and blogs. Some of these sites have heavy traffic. As I write more, and submit more, the numbers increase exponentially. In mathematical terms, articles are the great multiplier.

Discover 3 Easy Ways to Promote Your Articles

Are you using these methods to promote your articles?

If not, you are missing out on some easy ways to get more traffic. Ways that require no additional work on your part once they are set up.

1. Free Ebook

Compile all of your articles into a free ebook and give it away.

Set it up on its own page. Include a description and a request form requiring people to enter their name and email address before they can download it. In this way, you can distribute your ebook and build a mailing list all at the same time.

Another idea is to offer your free ebook to people who subscribe to your ezine. With the massive amount of ezines available on the Internet today, people more and more need a good incentive to subscribe to any particular one. Offering valuable fr*e information is the perfect way to snag subscribers.

You should also set up an autoresponder to use for updates to your ebook. Put this form on the ebook download page, on the front page of the ebook itself, or on both. As you write more articles, add them to your ebook and send an email out letting people on the updates list know that a new version is available.

Allow other people to give it away as well and you will create a viral traffic wave that can continue for years to come.

2. Free Ecourse

Compile all of your articles into a free ecourse and set it up on an autoresponder, one article per day. As with a fr*e ebook, put it on its own page with a description and request form.

Make sure that you include a removal link at the bottom of every single day of your ecourse. This will help prevent you becoming the victim of SPAM complaints.

3. Syndicate Your Articles

Website owners are always looking for ways to get fresh content for their sites. You can cash in on this need. All you have to do is provide the code snippet for them to use, then write articles to plug into the code. .

These three methods may seem easy, but start implementing them and you will experience a surge in traffic that will have your hit counters spinning. Get them set up and all that remains for you to do is write your articles and plug them in.

Article Submitting: How To Study A Publisher's Website

There are many websites that will host your articles on the Internet. Some small, some large, some with guidelines, some without, some support streams of topics, some have a limited focus, some charge a fee and some are free.

With so many places to post your articles how can you maximize distribution with the least amount of effort? You can do so by being selective. Post your articles only on sites that support your topic, have integrity, and have a win/win approach. Since no two websites are alike. Here are a few features to watch for when considering your articles for submission:

1. Search capabilities. When you are at the website is there a search feature visitors can use to find a certain topic? If the page or pages list articles one after the other down a long page readers will not get past the first 20 names. Actually they will not even read that many. Web viewers do not have the patience to scroll through rows of titles trying to find the right subject.

2. How user friendly is the website? If the article section is buried inside a website and you have difficulty figuring out how to submit your article you will want to consider submitting your articles to this site.

3. What is the purpose of the website? Is that purpose supportive of your article, topic, and purpose or detrimental? Is it a sales page just trying to drive up search engine optimization under false pretenses? don't be fooled there are many of them out there. Is the host of the website apparent or nonexistent? Can you find a phone number or location -- city, state or country?

4. Submission guidelines. Some websites stipulate a word count, minimum, maximum or range. If your article doesn't meet their word count stipulations your article will normally not get published. Take them seriously and take the time to read them. More importantly find a system to track these. I have a rating system I use with 1 being the perfect submission site on up to 15 being an absolutely no. I keep track of the no website sites so that when I'm looking for new sites I know which ones I have already reviewed.

Since website owners change, just as we do as we learn and grow with our skills, guidelines change occasionally as well. I recommend reviewing the guidelines either every three months or at least ever six. Some sites have gotten sneaky and post good guidelines and then change to "we have the copyright now" sites when you are least expecting it.

There are also a few sneaky submission sites that are counting on you not reading their guidelines. These sites stipulate in their guidelines that upon submission the author gives up their copyright on the article. Some are blatantly labeled while others are hidden inside obscure legalize.

Some sites stipulate that you give them permission to use your material in anything they print or publish. This means that they can accumulate articles on a certain subject, and this is their usual intention, put them together in an ebook and sell the ebook. While some of you will not mind this and consider it viral marketing there are some dangers in this. And this author knows because this has occurred to her materials before she became wise to the secret purpose.

5. Statistics. There are very few websites that provide reader statistics. I love the websites that tell me how many people read the article. I want to know if a particular topic is well read. Many sites prefer not to post reader statistics. I suspect it is because writers would see that there is a very low count and submitting their articles. Voting on the article is a nice feature, however, it is not really a vital statistic counter. Maybe 1 out of 10 to 15 views will someone take the time to vote. If the voting feature is remotely positioned viewers never know of its existence. Even if this feature is position well on the page -- above the article to let readers know its there and immediately below the article -- readers will rarely vote unless the article was awful.

Article hosting and posting is a joint venture -- view it as such -- and you will maximize your time and effort.

Ten Essential Tips For Submitting Articles

Submitting well planned articles on-line will increase traffic and can even launch your career when handled right. They'll drive traffic from all over the net and show an excellent return on your time invested.

Write Your Article Like You're Writing to a Friend

Even though it may be seen by thousands, each copy gets read by one person at a time. Your readers are more open if you're speaking directly to them instead of down at them. Replace big words with simple words. I've heard that writing at an eighth grade level will increase comprehension.

Write a Killer Headline

An amazing article can end up going nowhere because the headline sucked a lemon and nobody read it. Any marketer who knows their stuff will tell you the headline is 80% - 90% of the reason you're even considered. Write a great article of course, but spend lots of time on your headline.

Pick a Topic You Know Well

Assuming you've done your research and found a niche you like that's profitable, you can become an expert in that field because you'll stay with it. If the research is a chore it's easy to lose interest.

Educate But Don't Sell

Articles are thought of as nuggets of information that educate. If your article breaks that unwritten rule and is actually an advertisement in disguise, it'll never see the light of another monitor. A well written article is a subtle but powerful way to motivate someone. Advertising builds barriers, where news is accepted with an open mind.

Write Quality not Quantity

There's no room for fluff in a good article. When reading the posting guidelines, check the restrictions for article length. Stay within the word count or you'll get trashed. It's usually 500 - 600 words. Save your full length version for sites that'll accept it.

Include a Resource Box With Your "Call to Action" Link

Either at the bottom or the top of your article you'll want to include your name, describe what you do, a sign-up email if you're building a newsletter, your website link, a short call to action, whatever's appropriate.

Submit Articles Consistently

Writing and submitting articles consistently will assure growing returns. Some sites will accept your work others won't, so don't get discouraged. Make a schedule, stick to your deadlines and "Just do it"

Read The Posting Guidelines at Each Site

When posting your article follow the guidelines. Don't forget, behind every website and ezine a real person decides the fate of your article. You're asking for exposure to their data base, so take your time and be nice.

Don't Forget The Spell Check

There's nothing worse for a busy web master than wading through spelling errors. Do a spell check, print it off and read it out loud to catch grammatical errors.

Use a Tracking System

With proper tracking you'll see what worked and what didn't. It'll show where to spend more time and drop what's not working. Monitored tracking will increase your return on investment, both for time and money.

Don't Lose Your Article Back Links!

You heard writing articles is a great way to drive traffic to your site. So you have written several articles and posted them to dozens of article sites. Then you sit back and wait for the avalanche of traffic. And wait. Nothing is happening. What's the deal?

The deal is depending on where your article gets republished your links may not be “live”. Writing articles and posting them is a great way to drive traffic to your site. Search engines love it and if done correctly it will help drive new visitors to your site and get you listed higher in the search engines. The problem comes when article writers and authors and publishers don't all follow the same rules. The main problems are:

1. Original article not formatted correctly
2. Article copied and pasted into new webpage without links
3. New publisher doesn't make links live

Lets start with #1 “Original article not formatted correctly”. Not all article sites are the same. On some sites you can simply put in plain text and it will format it correctly, paragraphs will be correct and it will recognize http://www.yoursite.com as a live link. Some sites you may need to format it all in html. Sometimes the easiest way to do that is type your article in a web design program such as “Dreamweaver” and then view the source and copy and paste the code. If you don't have access to such a program then you should learn a few basic html tags:

View the source of this page to see the html tags.

This is a “break” tag, The break tag is used when you want to end a line, but don't want to start a new paragraph. The break tag forces a line break wherever you place it, a very common tag and one that is recognized by most all article sites.

Bold anything you want in bold should go between these tags

italic anything you want in italic should go between these tags

http://www.yoursite.com--some sites will recognize this as a live link. Many will not! This is where you are going to lose your links! If your article is copied and pasted into another web page or ezine your link will not be clickable. Someone who really wants to go to your webpage can copy and paste it into their browser but it is alot easier if someone can just click on it! If it is not a clickable live link search engines will not follow it not matter how many times it is republished. Imangine your article being reprinted 1000 times, a potential of 1000 back links to your site but without it being a clickable link you won't reap the benefits of those 1000 links. Your links to your sites should always be formatted this way:

YourWebSite

If you follow the correct html formating for links your website links will always be clickable. To learn more about html tags search google for "html tags"

2. Article copied and pasted into new webpage without links. Your article may be correctly formatted on the article site you posted to but when it is copied and pasted into a new webpage or ezine it may lose some of it's formatting. Some of the better sites have a choice of “ezine ready”, this will display your article in the correct html formatting which makes it easier to copy and paste.

3. New publisher doesn't make links live. All article sites have a policy that clearly states “you are free to republish the article as long as the links and author bio stays with the article” Some don't realize your links are no longer live or don't know to make them live. Others leave them off all together or don't make them live on purpose. Not much you can do except write to the website owner and request they make them live. Some will comply, some won't. Chalk it up to the cost of doing business. For everysite that doesn't make your links live, 10 will.

Keep publishing! Writing articles and posting them across the internet is still a great way to drive traffic to your site. Content is king and website owners, and ezine publishers are hungry for fresh new original content.

Don't Miss These 10 Must Know Facts About Promoting Your Website with Article Writing

Most all ezine publishers need fresh content. Article writing is something that gets tedious to the publisher who sends out an ezine every week. Fresh, unique ideas are always attractive, and ezine authors don't mind publishing others work, (along with a complete research box, (THIS IS YOUR AD) as well.

If you can learn and excel with this kind of content writing, you can win in two areas. Promoting your own site, or writing content for others site owners and earning dollars as a ghostwriter.

I have been writing and promoting on the web for over 3 years. Here are the tips I find most important to a beginning --article for promoting-- writer.

Articles should be short enough to read in less than 5 minutes.

Ideally they should be between 300 and 600 words (an average page in a printed novel is about 300 words).

Top 10, or 7, (the number isn't that important) Tips on (your subject) are great attention grabbers for articles to promote your website.

Write in short paragraphs, forget what you learned about in English class, if a paragraph is long, find a good point where you can cut it and put an extra line break. Browsing for content, readers are more likely to stick with reading something the eye can easily skim from top to end. (Notice with this article, I have added spaces between each bullet in this list :o)

If your article is long, break it into 2 or 3 parts. For a real web traffic puller, and list building technique, request them to sign up for an autoresponder version to receive 2nd or 3rd part. (be sure to give them opt-out options when you do it this way)

Here is a mistake I see many online authors' making. Don't use huge big vocabulary. You are not writing a thesis, or essay for school. Write so that someone with a 8th grade education could easily read it. Don't try to impress with large vocabulary words, you will lose readers, who feel your writing is condesending to them. (See, how many do you think I may have lost using condesending?

Try to write with passion. Put feeling into your words. Pull in as many of the five senses, experience stories, as you can. For an example of this, read this article. Articles should educate, entertain or inform. Imagine how popular your article will be if it does all three.

Make sure your article is well formatted. You can post it at a site like ezinearticles.com and use their ("get this article page" to get your article in different formats, both text and html.) This sites also allow you to input your own personalized summary, and keywords, which allows webmasters to find them and use them as well.

Set a goal to publish a certain number of articles per week to a certain number of database sites.

It is easy to find sites to submit your articles too. Just go to google, type in articles, then, scroll to the bottom of the page. You will find a button which says, search within results.

With this search button type in "free articles" or "free content" or "free to republish" and you will find several submission sites. You can also type "article submission directories"

I have set a goal to do five things each day toward promotion. Each persons goals will be different, but remember, to be effective you must write new content and promote on a consistent basis.

However, if you have a good article, it will also duplicate itself quickly and spread across the web like a forest fire out of control!

You can optimize your article to get the exact keyword density for search engines, but that could fill another whole article. For your main keyword, try to use it about 7-10 times throughout the whole page. This article's goal is to find article writer-promoter, webmasters to list their articles at my new article database.

Free Reprint Articles That Will Interest Publishers - 4 Tips

Have you been writing and submitting your free reprint articles for quite sometime now?

If so, how is your reprint rate doing? Is it doing well or is it a bit below 50%? Are webmasters approving your articles?

Here are some tips on how to write effective free reprint articles that would guarantee great interest from ezine publishers and webmasters.

1. Choose a good keyword

A good keyword is your "key" to getting high reprint rates for even just a single article. Try using the keywords found in this page http://random9.com/Googlest-site/index.htm

2. Keyword density

Keyword density is the number of "keywords" found in an article or content which is then divided by the total number of words. Try to keep your keyword density at 5% to 7% maximum especially if you choose common keywords for your article. Keyword density is important because this is one of the things search engines look into when they rank the search results.

Do not try to make your article an article for search engines, make them full of quality, informative but still search engine optimized.

3. Shorter word count

Publishers or webmasters often love articles that are less than 1000 words, but it totally depends on the topic and how informative is your article. Try not to go around the bush and result to making your article at 1800 words. In other words, do not make it like a short story. A good article may only have at least 250 words, but could still capture the reader's attention and have the attributes mentioned in numbers 1 and 2 above.

4. Good content

You wrote a 700-word article with good keywords and keyword density, but does it contain good content? Well, only you can answer that truthfully and if your answer is yes, then great! But for some few inviduals this isn't the fact, many are still writing articles that editors label as an "indirect" advert. If you really want a good reprint rate then make your article body 100% of quality information, tips, how-tos and tricks. Keep the 100% advert in your bylines and keep them short.

Good luck and enjoy writing!
